If the patient's situation is assessed from photos, a live consultation takes place on the day of the procedure. Blood tests are also performed before the procedure.

Before the procedure

Consultation with a dermatologist is required. It determines the cause of hair loss, evaluates the density of hair in the donor area, their condition, discusses the desired expectations, co-morbidities. Only then can the doctor recommend an individual procedure, choose the right treatment combinations.

The PRP (platelet-rich plasma) procedure is recommended for all patients before and after hair transplantation. A course of these procedures may be recommended in certain individual cases.

It is recommended to avoid alcohol and blood thinners for a few days before the procedure to avoid unwanted bleeding. Reduction of nicotine levels is recommended in smoking patients.

About the procedure

Hair transplant procedure can be performed in both younger and older patients, after assessing the causes of hair loss, concomitant pathologies. The procedure is performed on both men and women. Hair is usually transplanted into the scalp in the presence of androgenic alopecia (an inherited disease caused by hormone pathology), in the thinning of beard hair or eyebrow hair.

Hair for transplantation is in most cases taken from the occipital area, but in some cases, if the density at that site is insufficient, the hair follicles are taken from the back or other parts of the body. Each case is individual and discussed during the patient consultation.

Local anesthesia is used during the procedure. Hair transplantation is performed by moving one hair follicle from the donor area to the location where it is desired to restore the hair or increase its density. The diameter of the instrument used for the transfer is just one millimetre. The removed hair is stored in a special medium - liquid and at the appropriate temperature, which allows to ensure their good attachment and growth, development after transplantation. Each hair is implanted with a unique DHI patented implant (also up to 1 mm in diameter - minimally traumatic diameter) according to the required growth direction, choosing the right growth angle and depth. No scalpels or other traumatic surgical instruments are used. This technology makes the procedure superior to other hair transplantation methods, such as FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), as it prevents premature holes or cracks in the skin before implanting the hair or the Strip method, where hair is transplanted along with areas of skin, leaving obvious scars, a difficult healing period, there is a high risk of infection.
